Throughout his career Adam Gelles has driven leading global Fortune 1000 firms to achieve revenue growth and operational success through business and marketing strategy. He has worked with and at some of the world’s leading marketers such as, Coca-Cola, General Motors, JP Morgan, Chase, Microsoft, and Time Warner, to develop innovative solutions that have generated tens of millions of dollars. He has led multi-stakeholder management teams to consensus on complex cross-media marketing initiatives and the development of ground-breaking industry standards. His thought leadership on marketing and media has been published by leading publications including: The Myers Report, Forrester Research, and The Wall Street Journal.
Most recently, Mr. Gelles was the GM, Industry Marketing at the Microsoft Corporation, where he led the team that was responsible for the go-to-market strategy for industry-specific marketing for the online services division. Prior to Microsoft, he was SVP Sales and Solutions for Fathom Online, a leading search marketing agency.
Before joining Fathom, Mr. Gelles was the Director, Industry Initiatives at the Interactive Advertising Bureau, the leading trade association for interactive media in the US. The IAB’s membership included the leading online media and technology companies, including: AOL, DoubleClick, Google, The Walt Disney Internet Group, & Yahoo! On behalf of its members, Mr. Gelles lead the development of industry standards, research and technology solutions that improved the online advertising business, including the creation of the first online advertising standard: the Universal Ad Package.
Previously, Adam was a founding partner of 4th Dimension Interactive, Inc., a marketing and media consultancy that advised marketers, agencies and media companies to achieve success in emerging and cross-platform media solutions. 4th Dimension clients included: America Online, Campbell’s Soup Company, Lifetime Television, Omnicom, Turner Broadcasting and Viacom.
His early career he worked for major advertising agencies including McCann Erickson, Avrett, Free & Ginsburg, and Saatchi & Saatchi. Clients included: Buick, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Goya Foods, The Financial Times, MasterCard, Motorola, US Airways among others.
He currently lives in Connecticut with his wife and son and enjoys playing tennis and hanging with the dogs, Rusty & Breea.
